Hi Everyone!
It's Pin-Up Challenge time at Bombshell Stamps and Ms. January has picked the theme of 'Putting On The Glitz'! My first thought when hearing this challenge was some kind of project using white glitter paper. So I did.
The angel wings on the earrings are stamps from the 'Sacred Heart' set, which is one of my new to me sets. They just arrived, and when I saw them I knew the wings needed to be used for this project. The Thank You banner on the card is from the 'Banner Sayings' set.
The wings were stamped in Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink onto white glitter paper from an old DCWV Summer Dreams 8x8 stack I have hanging around in my craft room. I stamped out 2 of each wing and adhered them together so that each wing is actually double sided. I painted on a really thin coat of Glossy Accents on each side so that the shimmer of the glitter would still be really visible. This was super hard for me as you all know I love to layer on the Glossy Accents. I was good though, I refrained from putting on a thicker coat. After the wings were all dry, I punched some holes on top and attached my earrings together with my components. The pink/white beads are Czech crackle glass and some of my favoritest beads ever. I also added one strand of bling to each earring because we are 'putting on the glitz'!
The glitter paper that I used for the card is from the same stack as the wings. I stamped the thank you banner in Ranger Archival Jet Black ink and smudged it underneath a little with a q-tip to give it a bit of a shadowy effect. I added some diamond gems by Hero Arts to the bottom left and some chain leftover from the earrings on top of the card.
If you would like to use your Bombshell Stamps and create your own 'Putting On The Glitz' project, why not head over to the January Pin-Up Challenge Post at the Bombshell Stamps Blog and link it up? I hear there are prizes to be won!
Unfortunately it's night time (my favorite time to craft!), so it's really hard to see the shimmery glitter of the paper in the pics. Hopefully you can tell from the above picture - which I took before I assembled my earrings together. (Sorry for the flash glare!).
As you can tell I'm currently still working on 2 of my New Year's Resolutions! 1- Stop procrastinating and 2 - Learn how to take better photos of my craft items (and take them during the day!).
What are some of your New Year's Resolutions? Tell me below!
Happy Craftin'!
- Kim
I love those earrings! Especially with all of that glittery goodness. Resolutions? To get my DT stuff done as early as possible so I can play along with some of my fave challenges that I have been neglecting. And to get into better shape!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alison! Those are some great resolutions. Best of luck to you in the New Year!!!
