Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween to all of you! 

 This month was a super busy month for me and unfortunately I did not meet my personal goal of posting 31 Halloween projects. I'm sorry about that if you were expecting to see a lot more Halloween projects! ( If only I could craft for a living! ) But I do have a project for today!

I finally finished my take on Bombshell Stamps October Sketch Challenge but I did flip it around a little.
Here's the sketch:

 I created a wall hanging using the Mi Amor Stamp Set and this really cool Vampire-esque cardstock from DCWV. (You should be able to click on the pics to make them larger if you need to.)

 

Senora Muertas is one of my favorite stamps of all time.  I really wanted a new wall hanging for my craft room so once I saw the October Sketch by Kathi, our Bombshell DT Captain, the gears in my head started turning.  I wanted Senora Muertas to be the focal point but with a darker background and theme.  The forest background paper was perfect for this because it's mysterious. It makes you wonder, what could be lurking in the woods back there?  The base behind the forest is a black glitter cardstock.

 

Isn't she a beauty?!  I colored her with Spectrum Noir markers. I also highlighted around her in a light grey. The red background behind her has blood stains on it.  I backed it with a pretty blue glittered diamond and damask cardstock.

 

 The 3D rose is a Silhouette Studio file by Lori Whitlock and was cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.  The Skull is from the Dead Necessities Stamp Set stamped onto grey cardstock from DCWV.

 

The Mi Amor sentiment was stamped with white ink onto a silver foil cardstock so it would look like an engraved charm. The key is from the Silhouette Online Store and was cut out with the Cameo. I hung the charm & key from black chain.

And here's what the full wall hanging looks like.  The patterned paper is from the 'Immortal Love' stack by DCWV.  The black glitter, silver foil and green cardstock is from the corresponding solid color stack. I ruffled some of the ribbon underneath the horizontal cardstock on the wall hanging to give it a little bit more of an elegant touch. The ribbon is from my stash, along with the chain and jump rings.

I'm sorry that my card was not up on time for the beginning of the hop.  But it is here now for you to see! 

I used A Pirate's Life and Holiday Accessory rubber stamp sets on my card.  I colored in the witch and her hat with Spectrum Noir markers.
  

The patterned cardstock, stickers, and witches' dance card are from Echo Park's "Chillingsworth Manor".  The doily was diecut with my Silhouette Cameo and a Studio File (Victorian Lace Big Border by Jamie Koay).

Bride of Frankenstein - Halloween Spooktacular Day 21

  I used the Bride of Frankenstein digital stamp from Bombshell Stamps "Halloween Costume" Digital Stamp Set on this little treat bag.  She was colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

The bag is from SVG Cuts' 'Frightful Friends Treat Sacks' SVG Kit.  I cut out the Dracula bag from the kit and added the chevron rectangle to the front. I punched out small circles on the top with a hand hole punch.  The stars and lightning bolts are confetti by Sophie Gallo from the Silhouette Online store.  Lime cardstock is by Bazzill and patterned paper is by Doodlebug.  All svg/studio files were cut with the Silhouette Cameo.

Easy Halloween Decor - Halloween Spooktacular Day 19

  A few years ago I picked up a few packs of these Halloween die cut cardstock silhouettes from Dollar Tree.  There were quite a few diecuts in the pack. One package was bats, the other cats, another rats, another spiders and webs, etc.  I really wasn't sure what I was going to do with them as they've been sitting around for quite a few years as it is.  So this year I decided to use them for some outdoor Halloween Decor.

 

I didn't want to put vinyl outside on the house which is why I didn't just whip up some vinyl die cuts and stick them up. So I ended up laminating the diecuts and hanging them up with push pins.  (I know it's weird, I'd rather small holes that can be patched up rather then vinyl peeling off the paint or getting it all sticky.)  I guess I'd rather do it this way too because it reminds me of decorations we had when I was a child.  We used to decorate the porch with cardstock cats, scarecrows and jack-o-lanterns and hung them up with thumbtacks. 

  First I took the die cut -

Then put them in a laminating pouch and sent them through my laminating machine.

I cut them out around the edges and hung them up outside.

 They were quick and easy to make. They've also held up well. Thankfully the weather hasn't been bad this week at all.

Jack-O-Lanterns - Halloween Spooktacular Day 18

Hello, hello!

This post right here on my Halloween countdown is going to be different then normal and not a crafty project created by me at all.  

One evening this month, my boyfriend and I went to the Great Jack O' Lantern Blaze in Historic Hudson Valley NY.   I have been dying to go for years and we just never got tickets in time, but not this year.  This year I actually purchased tickets before they sold out!  It was absolutely AMAZING!!!!  If you love Jack O' Lanterns, Halloween and are looking for something different to do with your friends/kids/family, I definitely recommend going.  They do sell out and fast, so you need to by tickets in advance as you can not get them there.  You may want to sign up for the email list so you know when they go on sale next year.   Click here for a link to the Great Jack O' Lantern Blaze website if you are interested.   Seeing the more then 5,000 hand-carved Jack O' Lanterns all lit up was so cool and awesome, and I honestly can not wait to go next year!

Halloween Spooktacular Day 17!

It's Monday!  That means it's time for Muse Monday over at Bombshell Stamps blog.  This month Alter Skulls is being showcased, make sure to check out the past Mondays in October for more inspiration for this wonderful set!

I created this gravestone shaped card myself and cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo.  I then embossed the card and accent piece with a Sizzix/Tim Holtz embossing folder and my Cuttlebug.  I inked, stamped, colored and cut out the Alter Skull and Sugar Skulls with Candles from the Alter Skulls Stamp Set.  I also strung some beads and a cross on embroidery floss and added it to the card since it was a little plain up there.
