Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop

Hey All!

Welcome to the hop! This month, Alison, chose the theme "Washi Away"! Who doesn't love some washi tape? I created 2 projects, a card and a up-cycled jar turned marker holder.

Here's my card using the Speed Shop Stamp Set. I used blue glitter to emboss the hot rod, an old We R Memory Keepers Vintage Tee paper pad, striped washi tape, and Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black.

I love using old jars as containers for anything in my craft room. This jar I believe used to have jalapenos in it. So, after washing it, taking the wrapper off and removing the glue from the glass, I upcycled it!  All I did was wrap a few pieces of Washi Tape around the jar and adhered some Sugar Skulls and Flowers to it. The skulls and flowers stamps are from the Sugar Skulls Set. I inked them in Tsukineko Memento ink and colored them with Letraset Neon Markers.

And here's a side view so you can see the washi tape a little better.

Muse Monday

Hi All!

It's Muse Monday at the Bombshell Stamps Blog. This month's featured stamp set is none other than "Lotus Garden".

I created a tag using the Koi fish, lotus petals and balance sentiment stamps from this set. They were stamped in Tsukineko Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers. The purple and white twine is by Doodlebug.

Ms. March's Pin-Up Challenge

It's time for Ms. March's Pin-Up Challenge over at Bombshell Stamps!

And it's BINGO time!!!

Below is my take on the challenge. I used the row - Green, Skulls, FREE, Glitter, Twine. 

The Sugar Skulls and Flowers are from the Sugar Skulls Set. Luck is from the Tattoo Font set. Both are by Bombshell Stamps and were colored with Spectrum Noir Markers. I added a tiny bit of glitter for the vertical dots using some Stickles. The twine is green and white from Doodlebug.

Ombre Hibiscus Charm Necklace

Hi Bombshells!

Kim here, with a Fabulous Friday Tutorial. Using the hibiscus stamp from Hula Girl, I created an ombre charm for a necklace. 

Supplies:
Bombshell Stamps - Hibiscus stamp from Hula Girl
-29mm square metal blank from Vintaj
- Agate and Verdigris Vintaj Patinas by Ranger
- small paintbrush
- non-stick craft sheet by Ranger
- Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black
- Fiskars Stamp Press
- Double Sided Tape
- Jump Ring / Pliers / Chain Necklace

To start, you will need a 29 mm square metal blank (Vintaj) and Vintaj Patinas in Agate and Verdigris. On a non-stick craft sheet (Ranger) squirt a little bit of the patinas.

 Using a paintbrush, dab a small amount of Verdigris into the Agate so you have a light blue/green color and paint it on the top of the metal paint in a dabbing motion.

Mix the Agate and Verdigris together to make a medium blue/green color and paint it in the middle of the metal blank using the same dabbing motion so you don't have streak marks on the charm.

Next mix a small amount of the light and medium blue/green and dab it in the middle of the two colors to blend them. 

Then using the Verdigris paint straight from the bottle, paint the bottom of the charm.

Mix a small amount of the medium blue/green color and the Verdigris together and blend the middle and bottom colors together on the charm.

Let the charm dry for a few hours until it is completely dry. Once it is dry, place double sided tape beneath the charm so it doesn't slide around when you stamp. Then using a Fiskars Stamp Press, place the Hibiscus stamp onto it and ink it up with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. Then turn the press over, carefully line up the stamp onto the middle of the charm and press down to stamp.

Be carefully when removing the press from the charm so the stamped image does not smudge.

Once your image is stamped, let it completely dry. Once it's dry you can remove it from the double sided tape. All that's left to do is attach a jump ring to your charm and add it onto a chain necklace!

Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop

As you may know already if you've hopped on down the list, Alison our Challenge Captain, has given us a color challenge this month!  If you haven't already, please start at the Bombshell blog so you don't miss anything!

Here's the color palette from Design Seeds.

After doing a thorough search of my cardstock for similar colors, I realized paint may be a better way for me to go. So I used paint from Martha Stewart and mixed a few together to get the hues similar to those in the above inspiration palette. I stamped the Sugar Skull stamp from the Sugar Skulls stamp set in Staz-On ink onto a one inch wooden circle disc and then drilled holes on the sides. Next I painted the image and background, let it dry, and then assembled it into a bracelet.

Night Time Sky Necklace

Hi Everyone!

Have you tried the Vintaj DecoEmboss embossing folders from Sizzix? They are a fantastic way to emboss metal charms for jewelry making, cards, and home decor projects. I used the Moonlit Night embossing folder in my Cuttlebug to create this Night Time Sky necklace.

I used Vintaj's Arte Metal circle blanks in 34mm size. I love the Arte Metal blanks because the final result is a really cool silver on gunmetal look after you use the reliefing block. And of course for that reason, these blanks pair great with gunmetal chain and clasps.

The star clasp I purchased at a craft store some time ago. Unfortunately, I don't remember which company made them. Wish I did because I definitely need some more!

I made this necklace in the same style as the Cherry Blossom Necklace I made awhile ago. The Vintaj blanks and embossing folders work in both the Cuttlebug and Craftwell's eBosser. You just need the right plate stack which you can find on the manufacturer's websites.

February Pin-Up Challenge

Happy Monday!

Earlier this month over at the Bombshell Stamps blog, Ms. February had issued her challenge to Bring the Heat! And create a hot card for the love in your life.

I created a Valentine's Day card using the Man's Ruin Set and my Silhouette Cameo.

And in case you were wondering, yes I used pop dots! Below you can see the many layers of this card.

 The card base, grey background, red heart cut-out, and sentiment were cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. I created the elements myself in SCAL3, but the font is the Rockabilly font by Intellecta Design available at DaFont.com which is free for personal use.  The grey background was embossed with the Diamond Plate Embossing folder in the Cuttlebug which are both by ProvoCraft.

I colored the Party Pin-Up stamp with Prisma Colored Pencils.

And my favorite part is these rockin' guitar paperclips which I purchased a long time ago at Michael's!
