Dead Men Tell No Tales...

Hey Everyone!

Dead men tell no tales, so you better believe my friend here is not talking...

This altered pirate skull is made from a paper mache skull. I got it last year at Michael's during the first week of November. All of their leftover Halloween stuff is on a really great clearance price then!

I was inspired to make this based on Emily's rad "Altered Shoes" Tutorial and Anam's awesome "Flames to Love" Candle Tutorial. Their projects and tutorials are so awesome! You definately need to check them out!

I used two coats of Gesso primer and then a coat of Vanilla acrylic paint on this skull. In between when I was waiting for the coats of primer/paint to dry, I started stamping the Bombshell Stamps I wanted to use onto tissue paper with black Staz-On ink.

For the more detailed stamps, I colored the images in with colored pencils.  (I was tempted to try my Copics, but I don't have many lighter colored markers so I went with pencils.)

I cut out the images and applied a thin coat of Mod Podge onto the area of the skull that I wanted to place the stamped image. Then I placed the stamped image onto the skull and applied another thin coat of Mod Podge onto the top of it. (The above ship image was a bit too large for the curvy area I applied it on, therefore you can see some wrinkling in the image.)

I didn't apply a coat of acrylic spray sealer at the end, but I think I may do that now to seal it up.

I used A Pirate's Life, Homeward Bound, Ahoy Sailor, Mermaid Treasure, and Hula Girl Stamp Sets.

Have an awesome day!

3 Cheers For Summer!!! Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop

Hope you are having fun at the Hop!

You should have arrived here from Stempelientje's Blog.  If you are just starting out here, make sure to visit Bombshell Stamps Blog to start at the beginning so you don't miss any fabulous projects!

So, the theme for this month's hop is "3 Cheers For Summer".  Here's what Alison, the Blog Hop Captain, had to say about this month's theme: "It's time to tell you about the June Hump Day Hop! The theme is..."3 Cheers for Summer!" What's that about? Ya gotta make a Summer themed project...but there's gotta be either the number 3, or 3 of something on your project. 3 eyelets, 3 patterned papers, etc. Simple! And fun!"

Here's my Summer Themed Card with 3 Tiki Dudes.

I love these cool Tiki guys!

The Tiki guys and the circle of drinks have pop dots behind them to give this card some dimension (as you probably already know, I love dimension and love me some pop dots.)

All of the stamps used are from Bombshell Stamps - Tiki Party Stamp Set.  Cardstock and flower stickers are by Echo Park - Paradise Beach.  Also used Copic Markers and Tsukineko Memento Ink.

Your next stop on the hop is Rachael's Blog to see the gorgeous project she has created!

Thanks for visiting!

Patriotic Table Decor - eCraft DT Tuesday

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays to decorate and make crafts for.   Using Glimpses by Signify Pink's line "Pages of Honor", I created a fun, patriotic decoration for my kitchen table.

Supplies:
-eCraft
-SCAL3
-Glimpses by Signify Pink's "Pages of Honor" - Pages of Honor Dog Tag Embellishments, Set of 4;  Pages of Honor Scrapbooking Kit; Pages of Honor 6x6 Paper Pad
-SVG Cuts - Made In The USA SVG Kit (children silhouette); Christmas Gift Boxes and Bags (Star Bag)
-Xyron Mega Runner
-Pop Dots
-Black Cardstock

First I cut out the Star Bag from SVG Cuts "Christmas Gift Bags and Boxes SVG Kit" at 11.3 inches wide and the Star (2 of them) at 11.3 inches wide.  I scored the bag liner and then assembled the Star Bag using my Xyron Mega Runner to adhere everything together.

Next, from the SVG Cuts Kit "Made In The USA" I cut out the children silhouettes and elements (7 inches wide) from the Happy 4th Card with my eCraft and adhered all of the pieces together. I then adhered the assembled silhouettes to the left hand side of the star with some Pop Dots.  I used the 3 dog tag embellishments (Patriotic, Proud, Brave) on the right hand side of this card.  The patriotic dog tag is tied to the handle and the proud and brave dog tags are adhered underneath it.

And there you have it, a simply easy patriotic decor piece for your table!  This bag can be filled with anything, I put some red, white, and blue flowers in it that I got at Michael's last year.

I hope you enjoyed this project! If you have any questions please leave a comment below or in the Craftwell forum.

Pirate Earrings

Hi Everyone!

I used my Bombshell Stamps this weekend to make some fun earrings.  I love neon colors (and can you believe neon colors are actually "in" again!?) and since I had some neon colored paint on hand, I thought let's use them!

The neon blue is kind of dark.  Not really the neon hue I was going for, but I love the way these earrings came out anyway.

First I drilled holes on the top of some round wooden disks and coated them with a paint of Gesso primer.  Once that was dry, I painted a few coats of neon acrylic paint.  Then I stamped the Pirate Skull and Ship Stamps onto the painted disks using Staz-On ink.  After that was dry, I applied a coat of acrylic sealer and waited for it to dry so I could assemble them into earrings.
If you have any questions please ask below!
Have a fantastic day!

Raise Yer Flag

It's time for the monthly Pin-Up Challenge at Bombshell Stamps

And since I'm Ms. June, the challenge I chose for this month is Raise Yer Flag!

June 14th is Flag Day in the USA so, I thought this would be an interesting challenge for everyone.  A lot of other countries also have some patriotic holidays this month so everyone can participate in this challenge.  Of course Raise Yer Flag is open for interpretation and you can create whatever your little heart desires.

I chose to go the pirate flag route!

Please don't forget to link up your take on this challenge over here at the Bombshell Stamps Blog for your chance to win some fun prizes!  Link up using the inlinkz code at the bottom of the post over there.

Raise Yer Flag

I created a 3D Pirate scene.  This shadow box is made entirely out of paper!  I also used 4 different Bombshell Stamp Sets in this project.

Hopefully you can see the dimension better in this above picture.

So did you guess all of the stamp sets I used correctly?

I used A Pirate's Life, Homeward Bound, Mermaid Treasure, Hawaiian Girl.

Don't forget to link up your take on this challenge at the Bombshell Stamps Blog!  The DT and Pin-Ups love to see what you create with your Bombshell Stamps!

Thanks for looking!

Life's A Party - eCraft DT Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!

Today I have a really fun project that would be great for a hostess if you are going to a party.  Or for yourself if you are hosting a party!

This gift box is great for holding the wine glass charms and a gift card. It also makes a fun table decoration!

Supplies
-eCraft
-SCAL3
-Cardstock/Stickers - Glimpses by Signify Pink - Life's A Party Scrapbooking Kit, 6x6 Paper Pad, Extras Sticker Sheet
-SVG Cuts - Amelie's Accessories SVG Kit; Paula's Boutique SVG Collection
-Epiphany Crafts Tools - Shape Studio Tool Star 25; Button Studio Tool Round 14; Shape Studio Accessories Bubble Caps Star 20; Button Studio Accessories Buttons Round 14
-Fiskars Punches - 1/4 inch Star Hand Punch
-Pop Dots
-Clear Acetate
-Xyron Mega Runner
-Xyron 1.5 inch Create-A-Sticker
- Double Sided Tape
-Blank Bottle Caps - Pick Your Plum
-Jump Rings
-Wire
-Pliers, Wire Cutters
-Two-hole metal punch - Fusion Beads
-Cuttlebug and Supplies

- Martini Gift Box -
From the SVG Cuts Kit, Amelie's Accessories, open the pieces of the Eiffel Tower Box and place them on 4 seperate tabs in SCAL3 at the recommended sizes.  You will not be using the Eiffel Tower for this project so you don't need to open this svg up. Cut out the svg's labeled - box (bottom), top (small square), and lace with your eCraft.

On the tab with the Lid svg, open up SVG Cuts Paula's Boutique Collection and import the Martini Bottom SVG.  Resize the Martini to 1 1/2 inches wide and place this in the middle of the lid svg.  You can also use the SCAL3 Preview button to make sure the martini is lined up in the middle of the lid.  Once it is placed to your liking, you can cut out this lid (with martini in the middle) with your eCraft.

Next, I took my Fiskars 1/4 inch Star Hand Punch and punched some stars out of some of my scrap papers.  I then took a piece of clear acetate and cut it down (with scissors) a little smaller than the top and adhered 3 sides of the acetate to the top piece (small square) with my Xyron Mega Runner.  I then put the punched stars in the opening and sealed it with double sided tape.  (see above picture).

I then assembled the box together with my Xyron Mega Runner and added the "eat, drink & be merry" and "cheers!" stickers with pop dots in the corners.  On the other corners I used my Epiphany Crafts Tools (Shape Studio Tool Star 25 and Button Studio Tool Round 14 with their adhesive accessories) Star and Round 14 Buttons.

- Wine Glass Charms -
For these fun wine glass charms, I first cut out four 1 inch circles with my eCraft.  I then punched out 4 stars with the Star 25 Epiphany Crafts Studio Tool using no epoxies.
I viewed a YouTube video by Sara Sandberg (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ckkcnQEEYw) and couldn't wait to try out flattening the bottle caps with my Cuttlebug!  So using her tutorial, I flattened the bottlecaps and then adhered a circle and star in the middle of each flattened cap using the Xyron 1.5 inch Creative Station.  I used my two-hole metal punch to put a small hole in the top of each cap and then attached a jump ring to the bottle caps.  For the wire, I just used my pliers to add a small loop at one end and twisted the wire around to form a funky shape large enough to fit around the stem of a wine glass.  Slide on one of the bottle caps and bend the other end of the wire so it fits into the small loop.

I hope you enjoyed this project! If you have any questions please ask below or in the Craftwell forum!

Koi Fish Circle Box - eCraft DT Tuesday

- eCraft Design Team Tuesday -

As soon as I saw the gorgeous papers in "Spring Fling" from Glimpses by Signify Pink, I knew I wanted to use my Koi Fish stamps with them. By now you know that I love to make gift boxes, but they don't always have to be used for a gift.  You can create and personalize any boxes to store your things in - small craft items, jewelry, hair accessories, pens, etc.

I made a Koi Fish circle box so I can store some of my many bracelets in them.

Supplies-eCraft
-SCAL3
-Cardstock - Glimpses by Signify Pink "Spring Fling"
-Lori Whitlock - 5.75 inch circle box svg
-SVG Cuts - Porthole SVG Freebie cut out at 5.75 inches wide
-Bombshell Stamps - Lotus Garden Stamps (koi fish)

-Inks - Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Tsukineko Memento ink
-Xyron Mega Runner and 5 inch Creative Station-Scissors
- white cardstock
- clear acetate

How To:First, I imported the 5.75 inch circle box into SCAL3 at the size it automatically imports in.  Then I ungrouped the images onto 4 seperate tabs in SCAL3 so I could cut the shapes out in the cardstock patterns I wanted.  After cutting all of the parts of the box out with my eCraft, I inked the edges and put the box together with my Xyron Mega Runner.

I stamped the Koi fish stamps onto plain white cardstock in black ink and colored them in using Tim Holtz distress inks. Using my scissors, I cut out the Koi fish and put them off to the side.

Next I cut out all the parts of the Porthole SVG at 5.75 inches wide.  I also cut out a clear piece of acetate (with scissors) to layer over the blue (water layer) cardstock. Then I adhered the three Koi fish to the blue cardstock and adhered the clear acetate on top. I inked the edges of some of the remaining pieces and then glued the layers together. Once the entire porthole was glued together, I adhered it to the top of the circle box.

Vintage Rose

Hey Everyone!

June is my month as a Bombshell Pin-Up over at Bombshell Stamps and today I have a card to share with all of you.  Instead of my usual dimensional projects and cards, I challenged myself to make a card that did not have a lot of dimension and no pop dots!

Here's my vintage yet modern card featuring Rose -

The cardstock, frame and eyelets with side lacing give this card a vintage feel, yet modern since I colored Rose in with brighter colored Copics.

The inside -

Supplies Used:
Bombshell Stamps - Rose's Portrait
My Mind's Eye 6x6 Paper Pad - Nostalgia Collection
Copic Markers
Inks - Tsukineko Memento; Clearsnap; Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Ranger Inkssentials Surfaces Specialty Stamping Paper
eCraft by Craftwell Electronic Die Cutting Machine
SVG Cuts - Antique Frame from Attic Treasures SVG Kit
Eyelets - Making Memories
Ribbon - Offray
Adhesive - Xyron Mega Runner; Xyron 5 inch Creative Station
Scissors
Scoring Tool

Rose was colored in with Copics, cut out, edges inked and adhered onto an oval piece of blue striped cardstock.  The frame (by SVG Cuts Attic Treasures SVG Kit) was cut out with my eCraft electronic cutting machine and adhered together and placed in front of Rose.  The card is 2 pieces of 6x6 paper scored about an inch from the left hand side. I then adhered the one inch piece together, punched 16 brown eyelets in this space and laced the eyelets with ribbon and bows.  The frame was then adhered to the front of the card.  The inside of the card was stamped with Rose's poem, Thinking of you sentiment, roses, and rose with banner stamps in Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink.

I hope you enjoyed this card! If you have any questions please ask below.

Have a great day!

Dressform Frame Wall Decor - eCraft Design Team Tuesday

I'm in the process of re-organizing my craft area.  I wish I had a magic wand so that **poof!** everything would magically be organized and cleaned for me!  Since that's not the case, I have been doing a little bit at a time.  I also have been making some new wall/room decor for my craft area!  Today I wanted to share a cute little dressform frame I made.

 Supplies

-eCraft
-SCAL3
-Cardstock - Glimpses By Signify Pink (Sweetly Chic Twinkled/Baroque My Heart Scrapbook Paper; Sweetly Chic 6x6 Paper Pad; Life's A Party 6x6 Paper Pad)
-SVG Cuts - Spirits of Christmas Past SVG Kit (framed butterflies box; mat; pattern 1 (butterfly))  ; Sew Crafty SVG Kit (dressform from extras folder)
-Twine - Queen & Co
-Xyron Mega Runner
-Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive
-Pop Dots

In SCAL3, I imported the framed butterfly box (from SVG Cuts Spirits of Christmas Past) and resized it to 10 1/2 inches wide, ungrouped the butterflies and removed them from the cutting area and cut out the frame with my eCraft in the polka dot paper.  Putting that to the side, I then imported and resized the following in SCAL3 and cut it out with my eCraft- From Spirits of Christmas Past: the mat at 3 1/2 inches (in grey 6x6 paper), Pattern 1 (butterfly) one at 3 1/2 inches wide and one at 2 1/2 inches wide (pink cardstock).  From Sew Crafty SVG Kit: Dressform (in extras folder) at 1 1/2 inches wide in black cardstock.

I then applied my Xyron Mega Runner all over the grey mat cardstock so it was completely covered in adhesive and wrapped the twine all around the rectangle mat.  It's easiest to start from the outside corner edge and just start wrapping all the way around until you reach the middle.

Next, I assembled the frame, added twine for the hanger, and glued down the twine wrapped cardstock in the middle.  With Pop Dots, I adhered the black dress form to the middle of the twine part of the frame.  I bent the edges of the butterflies wings and adhered the bigger one to the bottom right of the frame and the smaller one to the top left.

I can't wait until my room is completely done so I can hang this up!

Hope you enjoyed this project!  If you have any questions please leave me a comment below.  I love comments! =)

- Kim
