July Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop

It's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop in July!

This month, Alison our Challenge Captain, has picked the theme "Paint the Town" and we can use paints and/or sprays and our Bombshell Stamps to create a project for the hop.  Fun right?!  So, at first I was going to use paint, but then I saw my neglected Glimmer Mists and decided I would use them instead.

For the background, I used a piece of 6x6 sand dollar paper from Authentique's Fresh Collection.  I misted it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Sand and Riptide.

For the shells, I cut out a 6x6 shell stencil from the Silhouette Online Store with my Cameo.  I used a piece of paper from the Fresh Collection for the background and first misted the RipTide Glimmer Mist and dried it a little with my heat tool. Then I misted SeaGlass Glimmer Mist on top.  I removed the stencil and dried it again.  Then I fussy cut out the shells.

The mermaid is from Bombshell Stamps "Mermaid Anchor" stamp set.  I paper pieced the anchor and the fins from papers in the Fresh Collection pad.  I also painted some clear glitter glue onto the fins.  The top of the mermaid was colored with Spectrum Noir markers and then pieced with the bottom of the mermaid.  The Hold Fast banner is from the "Ahoy Sailor" stamp set (also by Bombshell Stamps) and was stamped onto a piece of grey paper.

I rarely ever use my Glimmer Mists but after this project I'm thinking I need to use them more!  Okay, so now that you know one of mine, what is one of the most neglected items in your crafty stash?  I would love to know!

hooray for fridays!

Don't you just love Fridays? I sure do!

So 3 weeks ago, I enrolled in Online Card Classes - Summer Card Camp 2.  Unfortunately it started right when I was in the middle of re-organizing all of my craftin' supplies yet again.  I'll explain more on that on a later date.... Now that I have some room and things put away, I've been able to start on some of my cards.  First, I have to say I am so glad I signed up for camp because it really has been a lot of fun.  There has been so much inspiration provided by the teachers, guest designers and participants.  I've also learned a lot of new techniques and ideas that I can't wait to try out.

Here is the card I created for Day 1 (which was 3 weeks ago! oh my!).

The sugar skull is a digi image by Dilly Beans Stamps.  I print n cut it with my Silhouette Cameo, and then I colored it in with Spectrum Noir markers.  The embossing folder that I used with vellum is by ProvoCraft / Cuttlebug.  If you have any questions just ask below!

Thanks for checking out my card and blog!

Creative Coloring Contest at Unity Stamp Co.

Hi All!

Unity Stamp Co. is having a Creative / Coloring Contest on their blog (click here) and facebook group.  Here's the card I have created for the contest:

Stay Beautiful, Stay Original.  I didn't get a picture of the back of this one sided card, but it says: Don't ever change! You are perfect.

The flowers digi image and Beautiful/Original sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co., they provided it for free to anyone that wanted to enter the contest.  I colored the flowers in with Spectrum Noir markers and added a little bit of stickles to the netting.  "Stay" was cut out with my Silhouette Cameo, cardstock and washi tape. I embossed a piece of vellum and stitched it onto black cardstock for the background.  If you have any questions, please ask below.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

It's a Muse Monday Tiki Party!

I created this Tiki Step Card for Muse Monday over at the Bombshell Stamps blog.

Since the rubber stamp set being showcased is "Tiki Party" -- I used the Happy and Hungry Tikis, tiki time banner, music - fun - cocktails text, torch and flame stamps. I colored the tiki gods and banner with Spectrum Noir markers.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and Silhouette Studio DE to cut out the card and elements.  The step card file is the Side Step Card by Lori Whitlock.  The tiki hut is a file by Sarah Bailey, it comes with the palm trees too.  Since the trunk of the palm tree is separated, I added a thin shadow layer underneath.  The hibiscus file is by Pebbles In My Pocket. All of the files are studio files available in the Silhouette Online Store.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Check the Bombshell Stamps Blog (click here) for more Tiki Party inspiration.

Have a great day!

Retro Skull Handbag

Hi Everyone!

Here is the Retro Skull Handbag I made for the promo that SVG Cuts is currently running.
I don't have the whole Luxury Handbag kit, but after making this cute handbag I think I'm going to be purchasing this kit next along with the super awesome Halloween kit that they will be releasing today!  I'm so excited for that kit, I know that it's going to be amazing especially since I saw the trailer for the 3D house on their facebook page.
Ok, back to my Retro Skull Bag --- I used cardstock by Bazzill.  The skull is from SVG Cuts' 'Toil and Trouble' kit, which I cut out at 1 inch and then adhered it to a 1.08 inch circle.  I covered it with Glossy Accents to make it look like a resin button.

And that's about it!  I kept it super simple because I really wanted a retro handbag feel with teal and white cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great day!

Bombshell July Sketch Challenge

The sketch challenge for July is up on the Bombshell Stamps blog.  This month's sketch is a fun one!

For my card, I used the Butterfly Dreams stamp set.  I used Glory by Authentique for the cardstock because I wanted this card to have a vintage patriotic color scheme.  I used Distress Ink in Tea Dye for the base of the card to go with the newspaper print cardstock.
The butterfly was colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The circles and flower were cut out using my Silhouette Cameo, both of the shapes are from the Silhouette Studio online store. The flowers edges were inked with a Spectrum Noir marker.

And of course in typical me fashion, I used pop dots to give some dimension to this card.

Thank you for stopping by here today.  Make sure to check out the rest of the cards on the Bombshell Stamps blog and link up your take on the sketch.  All you have to do is use your Bombshell Stamps!

Have a great day!

Liberty

Happy July!!!

For this all cardstock (and glue!) 3D frame I used the 'Bracket Frame' and 'Easel 2' svg's by Lori Whitlock and cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo and assembled them together.  Both are available on Lori Whitlock's website and in the Silhouette Studio online store.  Patterned cardstock and Liberty Tag are from the Red, White, and Blue collection by We R Memory Keepers.  The red, white and blue ribbon is from my stash.

I used the Ahoy Sailor stamp set and Flag Frame Digital Stamp (flag is available in the Bombshell Stamps forum for newsletter subscribers!) by Bombshell Stamps.  Both were colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

I created this for Ms. July's Pin-Up Challenge at Bombshell Stamps.  Michelle, Ms. July, chose the theme 'red, white and blue' for this month!  Come play along and link up your take on this challenge at the Bombshell Stamps blog!
