King Of The Road- eCraft Design Team Tuesday

Today I have a fun Father's Day gift for a motorcycle loving dad!

Since ties are a traditional Father's Day gift, I made a tie gift box, but gave it a fun twist by using motorcycle patterned cardstock.

See below for the King of the Road tutorial!

Supplies:
eCraft

SCAL3
SVG Files - SVG Cuts "All About Dad" SVG Kit; Rectangle
"Family Man" Echo Park Mini Kit - patterned cardstock and stickers
Black Cardstock - Recollections
Xyron Mega Runner
Scoring Tool
Pop Dots
Black Ink Pad

For the Card:

Using your software (I used SCAL3) resize a rectangle to 11 inches wide by 5 inches high and cut it out in black cardstock with your eCraft. Score the rectangle in half at 5 1/2 inches.  You will now have a 5 1/2 by 5 inch card.  Cut the long striped sticker included in the Echo Park Mini Kit in half and adhere to the top and bottom of the front of the card.  If you have any of the sticker hanging off the card, trim it down with your scissors so it is at the card's edge.  Cut out the King Of The Road mini cardstock piece and ink edges with black ink.  Adhere this with pop dots to the card as shown in the picture.  Adhere the Father's Day, arrows and stars stickers also as seen in the picture.  For the black arrow on the bottom of the card I used pop dots underneath to give the card a little more dimension.

For the Tie:

With your eCraft cut out all the pieces for the tie from the "All About Dad" svg kit by SVG Cuts using the size they recommend - except for the striped portion of the top layer of the tie. You won't need it for this tie, since the top layer is the motorcycle patterned cardstock.  Assemble as per the kit instructions, ink the edges of the top layer of the tie, and for the top knot of the tie, adhere with a pop dot underneath.

I hope you enjoyed this project!  The "Family Man" mini kit has other fun patterned cardstock in it that you could use for this project too.  And Echo Park's cardstock cuts so nice and cleanly in the eCraft!   If you have any questions please feel free to ask below or in the Craftwell forum.

Have a great day!

Just in Case Birthday Card- eCraft Design Team Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!

When making birthday cards (and any cards really), I usually personalize them to include things I know that the recipient likes.  I love being able to personalize cards because a) I love seeing the reaction of the person I give the card to and b) personalized cards are awesome! Who doesn't like seeing their name on a card or their favorite flower, sport, color, etc?!   Well, lately I have been thinking about what happens when you don't have time to make a personalized card. You don't want to run to the store and buy one because you have an eCraft! You make cards, you don't buy them!  But what if you forgot or don't have time or got caught up in life and need a cool card as soon as possible... So my plan is to start making a 'just in case' stash, just for those times when I need a card and don't have time to make one.

Supplies
eCraft
SCAL3 and circle basic shape
SVG's: SVG Cuts - Happy Birthday To You SVG Kit
Xyron Mega Runner
Stamp: Unity Stamp Company - Party All Day
Ink: Ranger - Archival Ink
Cardstock: Heidi Swapp - Sugar Chic
1 Brad
Rhinestones
1 Pop Dot
Tacky Glue

For The Card:
From The Happy Birthday Card - With your eCraft cut out the Card Base, Tag, and flower at the same widths as per the kit instructions.   Adhere the tag onto the front of the card base.  Assemble the flower with a brad in the center and then adhere the flower on the top left of the card and glue a rhinestone on top of the brad. Cut a 1.75 inch circle with SCAL3 basic shapes and your eCraft.  Stamp the Happy Birthday circle image on top of the circle and ink edges.  When dry, adhere to bottom right of card with a pop dot.  Glue the 5 rhinestones as per the picture.

For the Party Hat:
With your eCraft cut out the party hat at the same width according to the kits instructions.  This party hat was as easy as that!  I was going to add some ribbon and more elements but since the cheetah print is such a busy pattern, I didn't.  I really like the simplicity of this hat - it's simple and cute and it makes a great 'little something extra' to give with a birthday card!

Hope you liked this project!  I'm excited to start building up my 'just in case' stash of birthday and event cards. This cute card and party hat are my latest additions!

So do you have some 'just in case' cards that you made?!  I'd love to know! Please leave a comment below, all comments are appreciated and yes, I do read them!

Have a great day!

 Here's the sketch -

And here's my card:

I used Bombshell Stamps "Ahoy Sailor" set on this card, along with Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Star 25.

Bombshell Stamps May 2012 Pin-Up Challenge

Hey everyone!

Bombshell Stamps Pin-Up Ms. May has a really cool challenge for us all this month.  It's a tic tac toe challenge. Click here to see it.

I told myself, "No roses! Not a single rose on this project!"   I need to challenge myself to do something else.  But, guess what?!  I ended up going with roses.  True story --  I used roses on a whole lot of Bombshell projects in the past few months.  But is that necessarily a bad thing?  I don't think so.  Bring on the roses!!!!

Doesn't she look familiar?! (ahem *cough* May sketch challenge blog post *cough*).  Ok, I used the Mi Amor set for this project too.  The Senora was beckoning me to use her again for this project!  I really love this stamp set. (if you couldn't already tell...)

I used roses, red, and pins for my tic tac toe board.  There are safety pins in the right hand corner. Hopefully, you can see them in this not so greatly lit picture.  There was a thunderstorm going on while I was taking the pictures of this project. (ooooo creepy! lol).

Thanks for looking!  Don't forget to link up your take on the May Pin Up Challange at the Bombshell Stamps Blog!

Baby Shower Gift Boxes

Blue, pink, yellow, or green... Baby colors!  If you know any new Mom's that are expecting, or even one that is going to be a Mom again, these cute little gift boxes would be a great treat!

Front
These are easy to make, and you could fill them with small items for a new mom like tea, small beauty items, small items for the baby.  Or if you are helping with planning a baby shower these would make great party favors filled with candy!  On the back of the boxes there is even a space to write a Congratulatory message or a Thank You sentiment (if you did use them as a shower favor).

Back
Supplies:
eCraft
SCAL3
SVG's: Winter Snowflake Box by Lori Whitlock; Scal3 basic shapes - circle, rectangle, square
Cardstock: We R Memory Keepers - Baby Mine; White Cardstock
Stamps: We R Memory Keepers Baby Mine - Baby Borders and Congrats
Ink: Archival Ink by Ranger (black); Colorbox by Clearsnap - light blue and light pink
Buttons
Adhesive: Xyron Mega Runner; Xyron 1.5 inch Create A Sticker
Scissors

In SCAL3, I opened the Winter Snowflake Box SVG by Lori Whitlock and ungrouped the image so I could delete the snowflake svg.  With my eCraft, I cut out the box in the size it had imported into SCAL3 as and assembled it together using my Xyron Mega Runner.

Then I cut out the following in white cardstock - 1 circle at 2.25 inches wide and 1 square at 2.5 inches wide.  In the printed pattern I cut out a circle at 2.6 inches wide and a rectangle at 3 inches wide by 3.5 inches high.

Next I stamped the baby feet onto the white circle in black ink and inked the edges in the colored ink and adhered it to the patterned circle.  Then I adhered the completed circle onto the front of the box.  I stamped the white squares with the sentiment/block stamp in black ink and inked the edges in colored ink also and adhered it to the middle of the patterned rectangle. I then adhered the finished rectangle to the back of the box.

I glued the buttons onto the front of the box, one in each of the four corners.  For the back, using my scissors, I fussy cut out some of the images from the same patterned cardstock that I used in the previous steps and adhered the images to the bottom of the back of the box.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! If you have any questions, please visit leave a comment or visit the Craftwell forum and ask!

Hope you're having a great day!

Mother's Day Pop-Up Card

Happy Tuesday!

Have you made a card yet for Mother's Day?  Today, I have an easy to make Pop-Up card tutorial. I made mine for Mother's Day, but feel free to change yours up! This can easily become a Birthday card, Get Well Soon, or Thinking of You card just by changing your sentiment on the front.

Front

Inside

Supplies:
-eCraft
-SCAL3
-Xyron Mega Runner Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive
-Ink - Brown by Clearsnap
-Black Dual Marker -Tsukineko Memento Markers
-Scoring Tool
-Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper - Vintage Marketplace & Recollections (black)
-Pop Dots

all svg files used are from SVG Cuts -
-Pansy from 3D Flowers Part 1 - cut all pieces at 2 inches wide (you will need 5 pansies)
-Happy Mother's Day Caption freebie from their blog -  cut all pieces at 4.5 inches wide
-A6 Circle Premium Pop Up Card from Premium Pop-Up Cards
-Cameo top 1 from Kate's Silhouettes - cut at 1.75 inches wide

First, with your eCraft cut out the A6 Circle Premium Pop-Up Card pieces from Premium Pop-Up Cards SVG Kit.  I used SCAL3 so the card would import at the size it is supposed to be.  The finished card should be 4.5 inches by 6.25 inches.  You will not need the flourish and strip pieces from the A6 card so you don't need to cut them out. Score the card and inside piece in half.  Adhere your outside and inside pop up piece together and also the circles for the pop up circle.  I inked the edges of my pieces with a brown ink to give it a little more of a vintage feel.

Cut out Cameo top 1 from Kate's Silhouettes Collection at 1.75 inches wide and adhere to the middle of the inside pop up circle. Glue your assembled cameo circle to the front of the bend in the inside of the card if you haven't done this in the previous step.

With your eCraft cut out the Happy Mother's Day Caption freebie from SVG Cuts blog. All pieces should be cut at 4.5 inches wide.  Ink edges and adhere together.  Use pop dots underneath to adhere this banner caption toward the middle/top left hand side of the card.  I didn't center the caption in the middle of the card but rather off toward the top side to make room for flowers on the bottom right. (see picture).

Next, cut out 5 pansies (and their leaves) from 3D Flowers Part I.  All pieces should be sized to 2 inches wide.  Adhere your flowers together and add the face markings with your marker.  Glue one pansy to the top left of the front of the card and 3 of them on the bottom right.  Take your last pansy and glue it on the bottom right of the inside of your card.

And your card is now complete!  An easy, pretty card that can be interchanged with different sentiments.
I hope you enjoyed this card and tutorial.  If you have any questions, be sure to visit the Craftwell forum and ask!

Lei Day Card

May 1st is "Lei" Day in Hawaii. In honor of this day,  Raise The Bar is having a Lei Day Challenge!  How fun right?!?!   I have personally never heard of this day, but then again I am not from, nor have I ever been to Hawaii.  Such a bummer! Maybe one day....   Anyway, this challenge was a lot of fun!

I used my Bombshell Stamps for my card -

Bombshell Stamps Sets used: Hula Girl, Hawaiian Girl, Tiki Party
Markers: Copic
Ink: Tsukineko Memento in Jet Black
Twine: Doodlebug

Cardstock: Down the Boardwalk by We R Memory Keepers
Adhesive: Scotch Quick Dry Glue

Thanks for looking!

A Thank You Gift- eCraft Design Team Tuesday

Do you ever feel like sometimes a thank you card just doesn't seem like enough when someone goes out of their way to do something nice for you!?   This project is for one of those cases when you want to say thank you, but also want to give someone just something a little extra, maybe some chocolates, candy or handmade jewelry.

Supplies:
SCAL3
SVG's - 3.5 inch Circle Box by Lori Whitlock; Begonia from 3D Flowers Part I by SVG Cuts; Butterfly 9 from Breezy Meadow Butterflies by SVG Cuts; Square Envelope by SVG Cuts; SCAL3 basic shapes - circle and rectangle
Ink - Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye
Cardstock and Sticker Elements - This and That Graceful by Echo Park Paper Co.
Stamp - Thankful For You by Unity Stamp Company
Pop Dots
Glossy Accents by Ranger
Scoring Tool
Scissors

Butterfly Begonia Gift Box
- Using SCAL3 basic shapes and your eCraft cut out a .75 inch circle.  (I tried a 1 inch circle but it looked a little too large so I went with the smaller size).  Coat with a layer of Glossy Accents and put it to the side to let it dry while you make the rest of the project.
- Cut out the 3.5 inch circle box by Lori Whitlock in SCAL3.  I used SCAL3 for this project, because the file imports to the correct size in that program.  You may need to ungroup all of the elements and move them to new tabs depending on the color/pattern cardstock you want to cut them out in.
- After all your pieces are cut out, ink the edges with your ink and assemble and adhere the box together with your Xyron Mega Runner.
- Cut out the Begonia at 3 inches wide. (I didn't use the leaves from the svg file, but feel free to do so if you'd like!)  Ink the edges of the petals and adhere them together.
- Cut out Butterfly 9 top and bottom at 2.5 inches wide.  Ink the edges of both the top and bottom.  Run the top of the butterfly through the Xyron 5 inch Creative Station and adhere it to the butterfly bottom.  Bend up the butterflies wings slightly so the butterfly isn't flat.

- Add a pop dot underneath the butterfly and attach it to one of the petals on the flower. (You may need to cut down one of your pop dots if it's too large).
- Adhere the flower on top of the box with a pop dot.  Adding the pop dot underneath the flower and butterfly will give your gift box some great dimension.
- If your circle is dry now, you can go ahead and adhere it to the middle of your flower.  If it doesn't look dry yet, I would recommend waiting until it's completely dry before you attach it to your project.

Square Card - Front
- In SCAL3, choose the rectangle shape and change the width to 8 and the height to 4 and cut this out.
- Score your rectangle in half at 4 inches, so you now have a 4x4 card.
- Cut out 6 butterflies using the bottom of Butterfly 9 at 1 inch wide.
- Cut out a 3x3 inch square and adhere it to the front of the card as pictured.
- Stamp your Thank You sentiment onto the front of the square.
- Attach 4 of your butterflies and some sticker elements from your paper pack.
-Note: Ink all of your edges after you cut out your shapes.  Also, when adhering your butterflies to the front of the card you can adhere them flat or bend the wings slightly up and adhereing them only in the middle to give the card a little dimension.

Square Card - Inside
I really like Echo Park Paper's Collection Kits because you get cardstock and stickers inside.  Their paper is double sided and some of their paper has these great little cards on one side.
- I chose the fantastic, amazing, wonderful card and cut it out with my scissors and then trimmed it down to fit inside my card.  I inked the edges and adhered it my Xyron 5 inch CS.
- I took 2 butterflies and also inked the edges of them and adhered them to the inside of the card with my Xyron 1.5 inch CS.

Square Envelope
- Resize the Square Envelope svg to 8.20 inches wide and cut out.  I cut it out slightly larger then 8 inches wide just to give myself a little extra room in case the butterflies pop up too much from the front of the card.
- I then inked the edges and assembled the envelope together with my Xyron Mega Runner leaving the top flap open.
- On the front of the envelope I used the "Thanks So Very Much" sticker from the EP Collection Kit.

- I took one of the long border stickers from the Collection Kit and cut it down and stuck it on the back of the envelope near the folds to make the envelope look a little more interesting.  Also, I cut down a little piece of the same border and used it to seal the flap down since I won't be mailing this card, I didn't want to close up the envelope with a lot of adhesive.

A pretty thank you gift box and card that is great for any time of the season.  This could even be used for a Mother's Day gift -- as a "thank you for being my Mom".  I hope you enjoyed this project!  Don't forget to check out the Craftwell Forum if you have any questions!  http://www.craftwellusa.com/forum
